I’ve been on some exciting pickin’ adventures lately, some with no luck and others with pieces that have great potential.
This time of year my creativity constantly spins through my mind like gears grinding in an engine. I believe I am more creative in the Summer than any other time of the year. The holidays excite me, which are just a few short months away, and I think my “décor lull,” sets in and forces me to sit and write down all my future holiday décor ideas. I know it sounds silly, but that’s just the rational I give myself.
Since I moved to North Carolina I’ve wanted to visit the Depot in Concord, North Carolina. So, this past week I had the opportunity to make a visit and I’m glad I did. If you’ve never heard of it, let me be the first to tell you, “bring your walking shoes.” The building is the size of Lowe’s or bigger and there is even a diner inside, because with all that walkin’ and junkin’ your bound to get hungry.
When you look at this picture do you see junk or endless possibilities?
There is possibility for sure. I purchased these spindles from the Depot, and they are lovely. I have a certain vision for these spindles, and I think you will too. My initial thought when I saw these spindles was to turn them into Christmas ornaments. I know, I know, there is no possible way anyone else is thinking of Christmas décor now except for me probably. But, they are just so unique and would be perfect for Christmas farmhouse themed décor. Or, even turned into some garland. I mean I could go on and on.
Everyone has a different perspective on a unique piece and I’d love to hear yours. What do you envision?
Once I transform these spindles into ornaments I’ll be sure to post the finish product.
In the future, I’m planning to post one or two times a week and if your looking for my DIYs or just home décor inspiration, I’d love to hear from you.
Thanks for stopping by.
